Introducing DoubleCheck — a new service that alerts you when you have insufficient funds, while there’s still time to take action. That means you can transfer money, adjust payment options, or make other changes before a transaction is declined — helping ensure important payments like rent or utilities go through and protecting your reputation and credit.

DoubleCheck also gives you added flexibility. You can add funds after the fact, adjust how overdraft protection is applied, or even use a credit card to cover eligible expenses — putting you back in control when it matters most.

How does it work?

If one or more transactions would overdraw your Carolina Foothills checking account (bring your balance below $0), you’ll receive a text or email alert like this:

“Your Carolina Foothills account ending in 12345 has insufficient funds for one or more transactions. Visit www.carolinafoothillsfcu.coop or visit a branch before TIME and DAY to review your resolution options.”

Click the link and log in using your normal Carolina Foothills online or mobile banking credentials.
From the left-hand menu, select “More Services,” then choose “DoubleCheck.”
Follow the prompts to choose how you’d like to resolve the potential overdraft and agree to the service fee, if applicable.
There is no cost to log in and review your transactions. You only pay a service charge if you choose to make changes using DoubleCheck.
