Each year, Carolina Foothills awards 3 micro-grants to non-profits that align with our mission and our heart. Each application is put through a scoring process by a group from our volunteer board of directors. If a member of the board has an affiliation with the non-profit, they are exempt from scoring that application.

Cherokee County Meals on Wheels

The purpose of Cherokee County Meals On Wheels is to provide food security, and personal contact to those who are elderly, home-bound, or disabled who would go hungry and alone without their services. They are the safety net for the most vulnerable citizens in our community.

With a small staff and over 400 volunteers' nutritious meals and a well-check are delivered daily, in 2022 over 100,000 meals were delivered to 780 families. These families have hope knowing their Meals On Wheels would be the knock at the door by a caring volunteer ..vith nourishment, a kind word, and a smile. The impact that this makes in a community is felt every day when lives are saved and people are cared for


Hub City Farmers Market

Hub City Farmers Market has a mission to strengthen the local food system with Markets, Equitable Access, and Youth Development.

The "Youth Crew at the Farm" paid internship program is designed to develop employable agricultural concepts in the real world. The Youth Crew will be able to participate and cultivate their Urban farm located within Spartanburg City Limits.

In addition to learning about regenerative agriculture and providing a carbon offset, these students will also receive STEM education about renewable energy.


Brown Girls Read

Brown Girls Read’s mission is to inspire girls of color to become lifelong readers, improve their literacy skills, and develop leadership skills necessary to prepare and empower them for leadership in their communities and success in their personal lives.

With this grant, Brown Girls Read will add 100 at-risk girls into their reading program.
